Recycling has a crucial place in ART GLOBAL’s corporate culture. We try to inform our employees, all shareholders and the society on this issue. We act sensitively regarding this issue during our work and service processes as well as our work offices.

Recycling is reintegrating Recyclable waste materials that are somehow used and malfunctioned, into re-production processes as raw materials via various Recycling methods. By Recycling waste materials emerging from consumption, the need for raw material diminishes and our natural resources are protected. By means of Recycling, the quantity of waste materials diminishes and less space is used for carrying and storing these materials and by using less Energy the harm given to the Environment by these waste materials can be prevented. Recyclable waste materials’ reuse as raw materials provides a high quantity of Energy Saving. For example, using recoverable aluminum provides Energy Saving reaching up to 35 % in proportion to production of aluminum from scratch. Using waste materials as raw materials is important also in terms of preventing Environmental pollution. Reusing used paper in paper production can reduce air pollution 74-94 %, water pollution 35 %, and water use 45 %. For example, cutting 8 trees can be prevented by means of adding a ton of waste paper to the pulp.

Recycling is an economic investment in long term. As a result of reduction in raw materials and quick consumption of natural resources, economic problems will occur. At this point, Recycling will have positive effects also on the economy. It will provide new job opportunities and will enable next generations as well to benefit from natural resources. The first basement of a healthful Recycling is the collection of these materials by separating them at their stem.

What do we do?

In our sector, we try to use Recycled construction materials in our designs, try to choose our Suppliers in this line and to provide maximum benefit for our Customers in long term. In 2016, Recycled construction materials market is expected to arrive at 1 billion 322.5 millions Euros. Proliferation of using Recyclable or recycled materials and chemicals supports Sustainable structuring, enables reducing waste materials, provides Energy Saving and cuts shipping costs. Besides, it provides many benefits such as reduction of pollution proportion, protection of natural resources and bio-diversity.

According to the scope of the projects we run in our fields of Works and Services, we make and apply Recycling Planning for waste materials which are suitable at a large scale for Recycling such as Construction Materials, Plastic, Food Fats, Mineral Oils, Glass, Rubber, Metal, Aluminum, Paper, Carton, Textile, and Electronic Devices.

In our offices and all possible work fields, for many materials of which details we have given below, we form Recycling programs and achieve works for raising consciousness.

Paper: Paper producers refrain from using 3,5 tons of original fiber for each ton of used Recycled materials. We placed boxes into our offices in order to collect Papers to be Recycled or reused.

Cartridge: We collect our consumed cartridges and send them to our suppliers to be reused and Recycled.

Printer – Photocopier: While choosing colorful laser printers we are going to purchase, we prefer the ones designed for Recycling and reuse, and solid ink jet printers without a cartridge which generate 90 % less waste material or a MFP (Multi Functional Printer). We do not throw old machines and equipment; we donate them to the persons or establishments that can use them.

Battery: Batteries have a wide range of use. Although waste batteries have less dimensions than paper, metal and glass; they include thousands times more harmful heavy metals for natural life and mankind than the ones in question do. We collect batteries out of use and submit to necessary places.

Package: We separate, collect and submit to the necessary places Recyclable packages we use intensively in our daily lives. We use Recycled packages for new year and festival presents for our clients, copartners, employees and vendors.

Metal Packages (aluminum and metal packages such as oil cans, tin cans and beverage cans),

Glass Containers (glass bottles and jars),

Paper and Carton Packages (more than half of recyclable waste materials comprises of paper and carton),

Beverage Containers (80% of them are of paper and a small percentage are of plastic and aluminum and are used for packaging beverages such as milk and fruit juice),

Plastic Packages (PET (Polyethyleneterephthalate), PVC (Polyvinylchloride), PP (Polypropylene), PS (Polystyrene) and PE (Polyethylene))

Electronics: Recycling electronic waste is a global problem. They create problem in terms of safety too. While the sector of electronic devices grows in the world and in Turkey, the proportion of E-waste among all wastes grows rapidly too. In developed countries E-waste constitutes %1 of solid wastes on average, this proportion is expected to double in 5 years. We, together with our Solution Partner, conduct studies on developing a program about increasing and facilitating Electronic Recycling. Besides, we try to choose items produced accordant with the directives WEEE (European Union Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). By WEEE directives; producers are expected to design their products using Recovery, Recycle and Degradability opportunities.

Oil: Oils are matters which have high viscosity at room temperature, high quantities of carbon and hydrogen, which are water-immiscible but are miscible with other oils. Oils; are used for multiple purposes including in food, fuel, dye and machine industry. We can dichotomize waste oils as Mineral and Vegetable. Waste Oils mustn’t be thrown in soil or water. Because they dirt the environment they are in and harm living beings around. They are ecotoxic. 1 liter of oil makes 1 million of water non-utilizable, and 5 million liters of water non-potable. 1 liter of used motor oil makes 800 thousand liters of potable water non-utilizable. Waste Vegetable Oils cover water surface when poured on water or sewerage system, damage water system, obstruct the oxygen transfer from  air to water, accelerate oxygen consumption in water in consequence of disintegration in water in the course of time. They increase operational costs of a sewer water purification facility. Sewer water causes pipe sections to narrow and congest as a consequence of sticking on sewer pipes. Used Vegetable Oils comprises 25% of sewer water pollution. Waste Vegetable Oils reaching to the sea, river and lake; harm birds, fish and other living beings. We keep Vegetable Oils we have used in a clean and covered container, separately from other waste materials, and warn our employees not to pour them on canalizations, soil, sea and similar emigrant Environments so as to protect the Environment.

Plastic: Generally, plastics are made of materials that remain from refinement of crude oil used at oil refineries. When they are Recycled, life span of the waste storing field expands. Nonrenewable raw material resources are protected. One plastic bottle doesn’t decompose for  3 thousand years. When 1 ton of plastic is recycled, 14 thousand kW/hr energy is saved. Plastic is none available in nature. It is made as a result of intervention in elements in nature by mankind. As we have mentioned above, we separate Plastic Packages for Recycle, and submit to proper locations.

Textile: We promote giving disused clothes to persons who need and could use them.
